Linear Design

For this game I sketched the level which the player ventures through. I sketched and iterated multiple times while playtesting to achieve a level which encompasses notable level design principals. This includes pacing, guidance, landmarking, teasing and much more.

This game was made in just under 5 weeks and part of a school group project. This meant I tried to keep the scope reasonable and achievable to a degree in which I think the quality was still high. However this was my first project as a Level Designer so on reflection there’s many things I would do differently. Nonetheless I think there are still a solid representation of the basic principles as mentioned earlier. It was also a project developed in Unity which means I have experience in both Unity and Unreal. However these days personally - and in the industry - I ‘ve been using Unreal.
